The Chester County Journal is proud to announce this year’s winner of our trivia game, during the East Goshen Township’s Community Day, was Joe Heumann. Congratulations!
Yesterday, Saturday, June 30th, was an exciting day for visitors and residents of East Goshen Township. Although the temperate reached 94 °F, it did not deter many from coming out to enjoy the Township’s Community Day.
East Goshen officials kicked off the events with a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the rebuilt playground. The master of ceremony, Bob Kelly, the Traffic Anchor from Fox29 News, introduced the various individuals, who where instrumental in completing the project: Thomas Comitta Associates, Drew Gilchrist, Regional Adviser for DCNR in Southeast PA, Board of Supervisors, state Rep. Carolyn Comitta, Jason Lang, Director of Park and Recreation, and many others.
The rest of the day was spent taking in the sun, and for some avoiding the sun, while enjoying the live music, food trucks, a helicopter landing courtesy of Paoli Hospital, petting zoo, toddler trackless train, inflatable activities and carnival games.
As the sun set, the crowd grew to watch the fireworks and they were not disappointed. Starting at around 9:15 pm, the fireworks lit up the sky south over Applebrook park, located on the south side of Paoli Pike. They ended shortly before 9:30 pm with a dazzling finale. The nice size crowd of around 2,500 people let out a cheer and applause, signaling their approval.
The winner of our Kahoot Trivia Game was Joe Heumann. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to play! We had loads of fun!
